Debt Validation Letters
Under the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act, you have the right to request that a collector validate the debt they claim you owe. We send debt validation letters that require collectors to prove the debt is legitimate, accurate, and that they have the legal right to collect it. Many collectors cannot provide proper validation, leading to removal of the account.
Goodwill Letters
Sometimes negative items on your credit report are accurate but resulted from circumstances beyond your control—medical emergencies, job loss, or natural disasters. Goodwill letters appeal to creditors' discretion, asking them to remove negative marks as a gesture of goodwill given your circumstances and history as a customer. These work best when you've since paid the debt and have a reasonable explanation.
Cease & Desist Letters
If you're being harassed by debt collectors—receiving multiple calls a day, being contacted at work, or experiencing other violations of the FDCPA—we send cease and desist letters demanding they stop contacting you. While this doesn't erase the debt, it stops the harassment and gives you peace of mind while we work on your credit.
Inquiry Disputes
Hard inquiries from credit applications can lower your score, especially if you have many in a short period. We review your inquiries to identify any that were unauthorized—applications you didn't make, inquiries without permissible purpose, or promotional inquiries incorrectly classified as hard pulls. Unauthorized inquiries can be disputed and removed.
Identity Theft Consultation
If you've been a victim of identity theft, cleaning up your credit requires special procedures beyond normal disputes. We guide you through the identity theft recovery process: filing proper affidavits, placing fraud alerts, setting up credit freezes, and disputing fraudulent accounts with the correct documentation and legal references.
Debt Settlement Guidance
For debts that can't be disputed away, settlement may be an option. We advise on negotiation strategies, help you understand the tax implications of settled debt, and guide you on getting proper documentation to ensure the creditor reports the account as "paid in full" or "settled" correctly.

The debt validation letters were a game changer. Two collectors couldn't verify the debts and had to remove them entirely. The goodwill letter got a late payment removed that was 100% my fault.
A collector was calling me 5-6 times a day, including at work. The cease and desist letter stopped all calls within a week. I could finally focus on actually fixing my credit instead of dodging phone calls.
My identity was stolen and someone opened 4 accounts in my name. UniMas walked me through the entire fraud recovery process—police reports, FTC affidavits, fraud alerts, credit freezes. All 4 accounts removed and my credit is mine again.
I needed to settle a debt but had no idea how to negotiate. They coached me on what to say, what amount to offer, and most importantly—to get everything in writing before paying. Settled for 35% and got it reported as "paid in full."
The debt validation process exposed that a medical collection had the wrong patient ID—it wasn't even my debt! Without that validation letter demanding proof, I would have paid someone else's $2,300 medical bill.
After my divorce, my ex opened cards using my SSN. The identity theft consultation taught me exactly how to document everything, file the right reports, and dispute the accounts. All 3 fraudulent accounts removed within 45 days.
